Fragments of Time, Woven with Meaning

Incorporating vintage textiles, lace, beads, acrylic, and text, I weave together fragments of time — honoring the labor of past generations while adding my own voice. Each piece is an invitation: to look closer, to feel, to remember, and to see the power in the details of our everyday lives.

Welcome

Hi, I’m Rebecca Overcash.

I create layered, tactile works that live at the intersection of memory, material, and meaning. My art      blends fabric, paint, found objects, and thread into compositions that honor the women who came  before me, while reflecting my own journey of resilience, reflection, and becoming I believe art should be touched with the heart as much as seen with the eyes. Each piece is a conversation between chaos and order, imperfection and beauty, the human-made and the organic.

About Me

Summer in the herb garden

From the time I was a child — surrounded by scraps of fabric in the sewing rooms of women who raised me — I discovered that stitching and layering could transform not only material, but also my life.

My art is rooted in the textures of memory: my grandmother’s crochet, a scrap from my mother’s fabric stash, even thread saved from gifts long past. Each element carries a story, and together they become something new.

Today, I continue that legacy — creating pieces that are deeply personal yet universally resonant.  My work is not just art to be viewed, but art to be felt.

Explore My Work

My portfolio is a living gallery — pieces made from fabric, acrylic, collage, beads, paper, and found materials. Some are intimate wall hangings, others are layered canvases, and some are my “girls” — handmade dolls, each with her own personality and story.

Every piece is a fragment of my life stitched into form — and an invitation for you to reflect on the layers of your own.
